Frank van Essen is a composer, drummer, violist, producer, mix engineer, and string arranger. He is mostly known for his string arrangements for Martin Garrix. Frank asked EV-Acoustics to build a multi-purpose production room. The back of the room is designed as a recording room. The front of the room is for mixing and producing.
The curved ceiling, which is made of multiple layers of poplar plywood, is functioning as a large bass trap and a diffuser at the same time. The large QRD-diffuser is placed outside the critical path and is in such a position that it gives Frank the ability to record his strings and to operate his DAW at the same time.
